Generally, I don’t think a sleep supplement can solve every bad night. If only it were that easy! However, my husband wanted to try Momentous Nightly Sleep, so we decided to see what it was like for him. Here’s what he noticed and whether he wants to keep taking it.

Why My Husband Tried Momentous Nightly Sleep

Momentous sent me a bottle of Nightly Sleep to try, and I planned to take it myself. However, I’ve been taking their Magnesium Bisglycinate for a while, and my sleep has improved so much that I didn’t want to change anything yet.

I can’t say for sure the magnesium is the reason. I’ve also been eating healthier, having dinner around 4:40, and avoiding refined carbs and sugar for years. I wrote about my experience with Magnesium Bisglycinate if you’d like to read more.

My husband, on the other hand, has had trouble sleeping for years. So he decided to try Nightly Sleep.

What’s in Momentous Nightly Sleep?

Momentous Nightly Sleep contains magnesium bisglycinate, L-theanine, and apigenin. A serving is three capsules, with 200 mg of magnesium, 200 mg of L-theanine, and 50 mg of apigenin. It doesn’t contain melatonin.

Momentous says the formula is meant to help you fall asleep, stay asleep longer, and wake up with a clear head. I wanted to see which of those things my husband would actually notice.

I thought disrupted sleep was just one problem. But it’s about the mind and the body. Sometimes your mind is fully awake and active, and your body can’t relax.

Momentous says magnesium bisglycinate helps the body release physical tension. L-theanine is there to help quiet a busy mind. Apigenin is meant to help the mind settle as you get ready for sleep.

Momentous describes these as three clinically studied ingredients. The company also says the formula has no unnecessary fillers, which is so important to us, and that every batch is NSF Certified for Sport. That’s useful information to have when you’re deciding whether to take some supplement every night.

I’ve been taking magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium L-threonate for a while, and I love them. Of course only by Momentous. I like its supplements are third-party tested and no unnecessary fillers.

How to Take Momentous Nightly Sleep

The bottle contains 90 capsules, enough for 30 nights if you take the suggested three capsules each night. The instructions say to take them with water 30 to 60 minutes before bed. That’s exactly what my husband did.

What We Noticed About His Sleep

My husband usually goes to bed around 8 p.m. and gets up at 4:30 a.m. for work. For years, I’ve heard him say he needed more sleep, couldn’t sleep well, or kept waking up through the night.

The first evening, he took Nightly Sleep around 7:00 p.m., about an hour before bed. By 7:30, he told me, “I feel my muscles relaxed.” He went to bed at 8, and about ten minutes later, I heard him snoring.

The next morning, he got up around 5 a.m. I heard him making a joke in the kitchen, and when I saw him, he was smiling. Yes, I’ve been ridiculously observing him and taking notes.

After two weeks, I no longer heard him snoring at night. His breathing sounded deeper, and he stopped complaining about waking up during the night. He’s been getting up in a good mood and seems to have more energy during the day. That’s the difference I can see.

Would He Keep Taking It?

We talked about it this morning. He wants to keep taking it and build on the sleep he’s been getting. I think he’s also a little afraid to lose it! He’s been more optimistic, making jokes, and I still haven’t heard him complain about his sleep in the morning.

I noticed a change on Saturdays, too. He used to sleep until noon, but for the past two Saturdays, he’s been up around 9 a.m. He was smiling and talking a lot. I can’t say for certain that Nightly Sleep caused all of it, but I can tell you what I’ve seen. He looks better, and he wants to keep taking it.
