This is The 3 A.M. Mind: my new weekly experiment to understand why I keep waking up in the middle of the night and what, if anything, I can do about it.

This isn’t a doctor’s guide. I’m not prescribing, diagnosing, or promising a fix. I’m simply testing real-life solutions, one week at a time — a mix of small, doable things we can try between day jobs and laundry loads.
Each week, I’ll experiment with something new:
Food habits (what I eat, when I eat, and how it affects sleep)
Sleep supplements (magnesium glycinate, glycine, adaptogen)
Mind rituals (evening journaling, no-phone rule after 9, breathing tricks)
Lifestyle tweaks (coffee timing, light exposure, protein dinner experiments)
Mental reframes (what if my 3 A.M. thoughts aren’t the enemy, but the signal?)
I’ll share what happened — the wins, the fails, the ridiculous middle-of-the-night realizations.
