Happy Weekend, From the Windy Plains

North Dakota is skipping chapters again. It’s not even officially autumn, and yet here we are—waking up to 40 degrees.

Our sleeves are being pulled by the wind, and the sky is filled with impressive clouds. The air has an unmistakable autumn perfume: crisp, a little wild, and carrying a whisper that winter is sneaking in early this year.

There’s something magical about these in-between days—where your sandals look ridiculous but you’re not quite ready to pull out the snow boots. It’s the season of stubbornly holding onto iced coffee while wearing a scarf.

Here’s to a weekend of leaning into the cozy: maybe baking something warm, maybe pulling a blanket around your shoulders while the wind howls outside, maybe just standing still for a moment to watch the clouds roll and admit—yes, change is coming.

What about you? Do you feel autumn sneaking into your corner of the world?
