What is an Autumn Capsule Wardrobe?

Choose a few trousers, skirts, shirts, sweaters, jackets, and shoes, and when mix them to make different outfits, you got an autumn capsule wardrobe.

The deal is to chose pieces that look good with several other pieces. So, one sweater can work with your brown trousers, a shirt underneath, and even your leather skirt. Add boots, a scarf, or a beautiful bag, and suddenly the outfit looks brand new.

Start with what is already in your closet, and add whatever pieces you need to fill the gaps. In other words, fewer clothes, more outfits, and much less staring into the closet while whispering, “I have nothing to wear.”

How to Build your Autumn Capsule Wardrobe?

The best way to build an autumn capsule wardrobe is to check what you already have. Look through your closet and identify what is new, what looks old, what you no longer love, and what you can’t live without.

I usually put anything that looks worn, doesn’t fit, into a bag. Just like that, my closet gains some precious space, and I can actually see clearly what I have.

Then I start building outfits. I pair trousers with a shirt or a skirt with a sweater, and I look at what is missing. After that, I order only the pieces I need to complete the outfit or make it stand out. It’s much easier than buying random clothes and hoping they’ll somehow become friends once they reach the closet.
