Are you getting the nutrients needed to perform on a plant-based diet?

That question sounds simple, but sometimes we don’t know what our bodies are missing.

I usually eat only twice a day—my first meal at 11 a.m. and dinner by 4 p.m. But a while ago, I noticed that I wanted to eat much more often. For months, I was eating every three hours—and practically everything that crossed my path. The constant urge to eat was driving me crazy.

So I started wondering what was happening. Was I missing potassium or magnesium? Was I simply not eating enough at my meals?

After hours of research, I began to wonder whether protein might be part of the answer. I looked more closely at what I was eating and realized that I probably wasn’t getting enough.

Protein can help promote fullness, but hunger and cravings can have many causes. In my case, increasing the protein and fat in my first meal seemed to make a noticeable difference. I felt satisfied throughout the day and no longer found myself constantly searching for something to eat.

It felt like magic—but it wasn’t. It was simply my body responding to a more satisfying meal.

Protein is necessary for maintaining muscle, repairing tissues, and making hormones and enzymes that help our bodies function.

Women who follow plant-based diets still need enough protein to support their muscles and daily activities, particularly if they exercise, lift weights, or lead active lives.

But we are busy. Our lives are busy. Cooking—and sometimes getting enough protein—can be a real challenge.

That was when I decided to give Momentous a try.

Momentous sent me three products: 100% Plant Protein, Signature Spec Creatine, and Vegan Omega-3.

Momentous 100% Plant Protein

One scoop provides 20 grams of plant-based protein. It also contains 6 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, and 2 grams of sugar, bringing the net carbohydrate amount to 4 grams.

I added one scoop to my coconut milk and mixed it with a fork. It took less than a minute to mix completely.

The chocolate flavor wasn’t strong. It was creamy and reminded me of a childhood drink I used to love. It was sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. The texture was smooth, and there wasn’t any aftertaste, which I liked.

I left it in the refrigerator because I was making dinner. When my husband came home from work, he tried it—and drank it all without my permission.

Yes, he did that. He also said it wasn’t chalky like most protein powders. He loved it.

The amino acid profile

The label provides the product’s amino acid profile, including the essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and play an important role in building and repairing muscle.

I found this information helpful because I want to be more intentional about getting enough high-quality protein, especially as I continue exercising and lifting weights.

I’ve been drinking the protein with my first meal of the day. Since adding it to my routine, I’ve noticed that I feel more satisfied during the day and am less tempted to snack constantly.

My husband has also been drinking one glass before heading to work at 5 a.m. He says it helps him get through the morning without feeling the need to snack before I bring him his first meal at around 11:30 a.m.

Before he eats, I check his blood sugar. His readings have fluctuated between 95 and 100 mg/dL.

He has diabetes, so the amount of carbohydrates and sugar matters to us.

However, we have not tested his glucose immediately before and one or two hours after the protein drink, so we cannot say exactly how it affects his blood sugar after drinking it. These are his personal readings, and they do not mean that this protein powder treats or controls diabetes.

Anyone with diabetes should discuss new supplements and significant dietary changes with a qualified healthcare professional.

Momentous Vegan Omega-3

The first thing I noticed was the dark bottle, which is commonly used to help protect oils from light.

I was excited to discover that this omega-3 comes from algae rather than fish. Traditional omega-3 supplements have often left me burping sardines for hours. Not nice.

The serving size is two capsules, and the bottle contains 30 servings. Each serving provides 500 mg of EPA and 500 mg of DHA from algae oil.

The capsules are a reasonable size—not those enormous omega-3 pills that threaten your life just by looking at them. They are easy to swallow, and I can even see the liquid moving inside them.

I’ve been taking them every morning for one week. So far, they have been gentle on my stomach, with no fishy sensation or sardine burps. That alone is an improvement for me.

According to the label, Vegan Omega-3 supports cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and muscle and joint health. The bottle should be refrigerated after opening.

Momentous Signature Spec Creatine

The creatine is unflavored. The first time I tried it, I mixed one scoop into a glass of water because I wanted to taste it by itself. It simply tasted like water—no flavor, grit, or aftertaste.

Now I blend it into my green smoothie every morning. It dissolves completely and doesn’t change the flavor.

I’ve written more about my experience in my Momentous Creatine and Collagen review.

How I Take the Three Supplements

I take all three around my first meal of the day. I add the creatine and the chocolate plant-based protein to my smoothie. Then I eat my first meal. After eating, I take the two Vegan Omega-3 capsules with my usual shot of apple cider vinegar diluted in water.

Pum! Done.

The apple cider vinegar is part of my personal routine and is not necessary for taking the omega-3.

Why This Plant-Based Supplement Stack Makes Sense

This lifestyle image was created with AI for illustrative purposes. My review and experiences are based on the actual Momentous products I received and personally tried.

The plant-based protein helps me add more protein to my first meal. Since incorporating it into my routine, I have felt more satisfied and haven’t spent the day searching for something else to eat. That has been my personal experience, although hunger and cravings can be influenced by many factors.

I take creatine because, at this stage of my life, protecting my muscle mass matters to me. We naturally lose muscle as we get older, which is one reason exercise and strength training have become so important in my routine.

Creatine does not preserve muscle by itself, but it helps supply energy to the muscles during high-intensity exercise and may support strength and lean mass when combined with resistance training. That is why I chose to include it.

I was drawn to Omega-3 mainly because I want to support my brain health. DHA is an important structural component of brain-cell membranes, and I have read about the potential cognitive benefits of both omega-3 and creatine. Research does not prove that these supplements prevent cognitive decline, but I am interested in supporting my brain health in practical ways.

What I Love About the Momentous Stack

What I love about this stack is that it includes only three products. The ingredients have been studied, and the products are third-party tested. Most importantly, the routine is simple to follow and doesn’t require any major changes to my day.

If I could add a fourth product, I would choose Magnesium L-Threonate because I already take it and am interested in its potential role in brain health.

This type of routine may appeal to women who exercise, lift weights, eat mostly plant-based foods, or find it difficult to get enough protein during a busy day.

Would I continue buying these products with my own money? Definitely.

My husband and I both loved the plant-based protein. But I’m not letting him try my omega-3. He already stole my protein shake, and I have learned my lesson.

That one is mine. Only mine.

If you want to try the same three products I use, shop through my Momentous link and use code MARTRUTT at checkout.
